Maria Flick

I offer a personalized approach in my practice, considering factors that influence one’s sense of well-being. I am a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Practice and Psychiatric/Mental Health. My areas of expertise include the treatment of depression, anxiety, mood lability, trauma, ADHD, and interpersonal issues. Finding the right psychiatrist is a very personal decision. I am happy to talk with you by telephone or schedule an initial consultation to provide you with a better sense of my style and approach. I strive to create a safe, collaborative spirit, providing recommendations and guidance, as well as respect for the path of each individual.

My career path includes working for more than 24 years, in healthcare; starting in the military as an Air Evacuation Medic, then transitioning to work as a civilian nurse in a Level I trauma center. This led to my desire to continue my educational goals, as well as gaining experience as a front-line worker, and graduated with honors from Walden University as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2014. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I worked in specialty areas of hematology and oncology as well as collaborating with a large patient population of active duty, retired military, and dependents. More recently, I returned to Liberty University to obtain my Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, graduating with honors in 2021. I am currently working with insurance and as a Veteran Community Provider.

I approach patient care with compassion to improve the lives of those entrusted to my care, using a lifetime of experience and a wealth of knowledge. It is particularly important for me to utilize an integrative approach to individualize treatment for each of my clients. I also take pride in collaborating with parents, therapists, and providers needed for the best possible outcome.
